Born and raised in the Sierra Mountains near Lake Tahoe Nevada, and as a descendant of Daniel Boone,  it was natural that Daryl Boone would eventually forge a name for himself as a wood carver, furniture ceator, based in the high country. Over 25 years ago Daryl's natural affinity with the environment began to be reflected in his unique range of rustic furniture and carvings.

Daryl can be found carving in many different types of natural objects, back in the early days, Daryl collected Cottonwood Bark from Colorado to carve Old World santas and ornaments. These one of a kind santas range from 3" to 11" tall and are painted in various colors. Also popular are Daryl's Woodspirit faces carved in many types of Rocky Mountain trees. The tale of a Woodspirit is a specal one, the legend started over 200 years ago in Germany. A Woodspirit is a symbol of wisdom and brings good luck to those who keep them. True to his pioneer spirit Daryl has left many (over 150) Woodspirit carvings on trees in the woods of Colorado and other western states, which delight many a hikers heart.

Daryl branched out into fine rustic furniture that reflects  the beauty and strength of the wood and forests they originated from. Influenced by well known craftsman such as Thomas Molesworth, Ralph Kyloe and L.D. Burke. Daryl's creations sometimes share more than one design technique. For example, a balanced mix of Cowboy/Ranch theme set off by a hint of Adirondack style. Now Daryl's works include tables, benches/chairs, coat racks and lamps. Most are constucted of Colorado Aspen and Lodgepole Pine trees, although it is not uncommon to find a piece made with 100 year old reclaimed gold mine shack wood, this material has weathered the test of time.

In the past few years Daryl has seen his custom sign making flourish, while visiting Glenbrook Gallery you will see many of Daryl's original hand painted, and carved vintage ski signs made to compliment any ski enthusiast retreat!
